May 11th 1927 in Boulogne-Billancourt
He was the third person to start painting using cubism technique, Gris is one of the major and best
cubist painters in the world. His work is known to be famous by its lucidity and austerity. He started
off by working alongside with his friend Picasso also with Braque. All three men worked closely
together until the eruption of World War I where afterwards he decided that their own originality that
he brought to cubism made his expectations different. From his experience with painting he became
a solo artist and travelled around painting mostly cubism style.
